I hate to have a small pocket pair because the only way i can improve my hand is to have an other identical card. That is why i almost never raise on the preflop whit a small poket pair.

The other way with small pocket pair is to put you all in hand hope that only one or two player will call you so you have better chance to win...

pocket pairs

Postby Sursen68 » Sat Dec 03, 2005 7:21 pm

I am almost to the point of tossing pps from Tens and below unless I am in really good position, button or just off the button, as I have not made a set or full house yet. ;)

Yes we have all seen pocket 2'c crack big slick or close hands, but it is just a matter of time before someone gets an over card to beat you.

The way you play pokcet pairs really depends on your position and the strength of the pocket. Limping with small pocket pairs in early and middle is ok generally and riainsing if there are not many people in the ahnd and you do have position. Large pocket pairs you generally always raise with preflop in any position, but i like ti limp with them in early positon and raise anyone who decides to bet preflop.
