Q 7

Postby Cored1975 » Sun Apr 02, 2006 7:46 pm

Queen 7 is satistically the worst hand that you can be dealt. Other than 2 7, this hand has been proven to connect the least out of any other hand in poker. You should muck it immediately if you are dealt this hand to stay out of trouble.

Doyle Brunsons is 10 2 which is hardly the best hand in poker

Well, I can't understand how they could come up with the math to prove that. I'd think it is a lot better then a lot of hands but that being said, if you play it regularly your a donkey.

Where did you get your info?  I think you are confusing it with something else.

Actually, I believe Q7 is the worst hand you can start with in HU play that will win more than it loses.  Andy Beal did some analysis on thousands of hands to see how they would all hold up in HU sitautions.  Pretty sure this was the worst of the positive expectation hands.

Q7 is called the "computer hand." It is the exact medium of all hands in Holdem. In other words, if all the hands are run though the system, 72o being the worst, and AA being the best, Q7 is directly in the middle. 72o is the worst because its the 2 lowest cards with no chance of a straight. Technically 32o is the worst hand, but you get the point.
