AA verus AK

Postby Whictime » Sat Feb 04, 2006 3:28 am

AA is suppose to be the best starting hand. Well according to most starting hand lists anyway. I believe that the AK is the best starting hand, especially if it is suited. You have the posibility of a straight and a flush as well as two different top pairs. AA is good but is limited to the posibility of a top pair,  trips, or a 4 card draw to a straight or flush. Anyone see this too? I guess in my  view it much more versitile. AA is by no means a bad hand.    :h

AA is the best starting hand u just have to know the right way to ply it in each and every situation. there isnt one certain way to ply it everytime.

Although most ppl think that way

AA is definately better then AK but AK is much better to play after the flop then pf. If you have AA pf you know you have to best hand but when the flop comes its very difficult to tell if it still the best.

AA IS the best startin hand when it comes to live games because AK may not hit but with Aces u already have a pair

the most important thing to know about AA is when to throw it away!

I think most of you guys have onlinepokeritis (made it up myself  8) ).  Aces are the best starting hand and in most cases should win.  With AK if you are fortunate and hit a pair then you are in the same postion as if you had aces (which would always be top pair) in the first place.  Basically AA wins far more often than AK.

although AK is ranked lower than AA, i sometimes would rather play a suited AK than an AA, AA seems to make me to confident in the cards im playing and they are not always a sure win
