on-line poker made a felony in Washington State

Postby Whictime » Fri Jun 09, 2006 7:12 am

Has anyone heard of the new law in Washington State? If you are caught playing poker on-line, you can be charged with a felony, with max jail time of 5 years, and fined up to $10,000. Why is the government always so behind in what the public really wants.  :h   Big brother is watching!!!

Hey dont worry once they find a way of ensuring all the players are suitably taxed for playing then it wont be illegal.

Yes I heard about this and they are thinking of doing this in many states. I think it is BS....it isn't any of their business if I want to play online poker in the privacy of my home. Why don't they take our tax dollars and spend their time getting the pedophiles and perverts off the net? Oh wait....that is too much of a challenge for them, they would rather pick on the people who aren't hurting anyone by playing poker online. I said along time ago that we are not the country our forefathers meant for us to be....laws are one thing but the government sticking their nose in my private business is BS!

I read about that new law and how are they going to catch people playing?  Raid their homes?
