The poker player learns that sometimes both science and common sense are wrong; that the bumblebee can fly; that, perhaps, one should never trust an expert; that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of by those with an academic bent.

Online is great place to learn the game and make some dollars, but live game is much more fun. At least for me. Live game is really what people say about poker you play against the player not cards!

I have gotten really spoiled by online poker.  The dealers are friendly and so efficient!  The live games around here are charity by law.  They are staffed by poorly trained volunteers.  The play is so slow that we rarely get a full round of hands in before the blinds raise.

wow ardrenk's post is a bit much lol......   anyways....

One thing people say about online poker (or what they complain about )
is all the bad beats....

the only reason this occurs is cause you remember them.. and not all the ones that YOU laid on people...and not all the boring hands in between..

SO many bad beats occur because SO many hands occur..

you can play up to ten hands online in the time it would take to play one at a full table...

online poker more comfortable i think..there is no  card dealing problem also..system makes it..but in online poker people must put their own photos  in order to see with whom we are playing

I've never played poker on a real table. Always wondered if it was very different to online play, I guess it would be. I can't imagine that on a real table there would be that many straights and flushes.

I've noticed that poker on a real table is a lot slower and more about people and their physical tales versus their betting tales. I think it's easier to play real poker than online poker since you're able to much easier read your opponent since they shake and what not when they have good hands.

They are 2 completely different things. Online its harder to gain a read and 7 times out of 10 the best hand will win. In live your reads and your tells are alot more important and you can bet out or be bet out with nothing more often. Bad Beats are also less frequent live i've found as players always have their own money instead of freeroll winnings they are losing.

i dont have an opppurtunity to play live games very often -really the only chance is a local game once and awhile and most of them dont know how to play --which makes it harder since they chase everything down

Ive been playing live more recently, and its completely different. As sad above, many less bad beats. Reading opponent much more important. In the low limit games there are still alot of chasers ansd calling stations though, and in that way they are similar.

well nothing online can compare to live games where you can see the players but in the comfort of your own home online is great ,they are 2 very different games though i think
