Can somebody help me with this simple math problem

Postby Spost1990 » Wed Aug 17, 2005 5:25 am

A friend of mine yesterday asked me if I herard about noble pokers fantastic give-a-way. I am a little misunderstood over there so I hadn't. He told me that if you win 7 sit n go's in a row then you will win 1 million dollars. Now the math problem. He seems to think that at ten players to a table then the odds are 70-1. I seem to think that the odds are much greater. (all players are equal in playing strength) I seem to think at ten players to a table then the odds are really 10 to the 7th power. (10x10x10x10x10x10x10=). Anybody know the real answer?
Thanks again boys an girls.

it's about 30,000:1 to win 5 in a row  maybe a little more maybe less but that is it :)

correct you would multiply 10^7 so 10,000,000:1 are your chances...although your "skill" or how you play can affect this some

I dont think it is illegal, just against the room rules. you would probably just get you and your freinds booted when the saw the same group of players losing to one guy over and over

if you read the rules that were set up for that challenge you will see that collusion is cheating and cheating gets you booted. :(

collusion is two or more players working together

My thoughts exactly. With $1,000,000 on the line I think they would screen it rather well and even 2 players in all 7 games will arouse suspiscion let alone the same players @ 7 consecutive tables

Okay here's some food for thought.  How about 10 players with a router sending Ip addresses to different places.  Signed up with 3 different accounts doing this.  Maybe then I think it would be very possible.  But I would never attempt it, I am not that "computer smart".  But possibly some of you are hehe.
