My best strategy

Postby Doccujjoinds » Sat Apr 09, 2005 8:48 am

It's probably no secret, but my best strategy; especially during freerolls w/high # of players is only to play high pockets or high suited connectors. I've lasted quite a while and placed quite a bit.

and in freerolls play these hands aggressively so you can see the flop heads up or 3 handed. This increases your odds of winning the pot exponentially, and you can always outplay your opponenents too, not that people understand the concept of folding online in freerolls

BE AGGRESSIVE AT FIRST

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PLAY HARD AT FIRST (AND I DONT MEAN GOING ALL IN EVERY OTHER HAND) YOU ALWAYS WANT TO BUILD UP YOUR CHIPSTACK FOR LATER OTHERWISE PLAYERS WITH BIGGER CHIP STACKS WILL FORCE YOU TO CALL BIG OR PUT YOU ALL IN. THEN AS YOU KEEP FOLDING THE BLINDS EAT AWAY AT YOUR CHIPSTACK ELIMINATING YOU SOONER OF LATER

I agree that playing tight in these games like you mention is definitely a key to success.  My best is getting to 3 final tables out of 5 freerolls played in one day using a very tight strategy.

I play tight the first hour or so.  Always no matter what tourney Im in.  But especially in freerolls.

I think that is the way to play at the atrt of a freeroll as there is oo many people. But these hands should eb played very very strongly like all in. Also as the tournament gets smaller u have to play more yhands to be to survive and also not throw all ur chips in on the big hands .
