A big raise won't even cut it. You've got to move all in in this situation. If you get a caller you've got a great heads up hand in AK, and if everyone folds then you win a lot of blinds.

The original post wasn't as intelligently written as it could have been. However, this strategy isn't nessasarily "bingo" poker. The only hand that has AK completely crushed is AA. Sklansky talks about getting all your chips in with AK. Now, granted, I don't play this way, but its not a horrible strategy if the cards fall right.

Sorry  just noticed that this was a response to a previous thread and not just a blanket statement.

I would agree there is a time and a place for all in with AK but it is not a hand to do it every time.

Will they fold?

Postby Firep1983 » Fri May 26, 2006 7:04 am

I was playing yesterday at a no-limit table, i have run ot of cash and had only 40 bucks left. The other guys had about 300 each. I have KQ, the others have AK, K7. Flop was KJ6 rainbow, the bet was about 50 a head. The turn is a J of the other suit. I went all in. K7 folded, AK did not and won the pot. Would you have folded if I had sent 100 after the J comes out?
