STARTING HANDS/ HOLE CARDS

Postby Alaid1977 » Wed Jan 11, 2006 11:13 am

Well I think if u start with anything above 10 (both cards) and/or pockets you have a good chance of winning what do you people think about this.

PS. Just don't marry ur cards.

I VERY SO MUCH AGREE WITH YOU.  I HAVE REAL GOOD LUCK WITH POCKET PAIRS, BUT LIKE YOU SAID GOT TO BE 10 OR HIGHER ESPECIALLY IF IM GOING ALL IN.........

It doesn't matter what cards you play but rather how you play them.  You need to bluff alot in the early rounds.

Um... ah.... You really need to do some research about starting standards. Your view is way to simplistic. There is a big difference between AK and KJ. Pocket Pairs are great, but on in some situation and there is a big difference between QQ and 55.

I just like playing.  I really don't care too much which cards i be starting with.   Any two cards can win da pot so if I play alot i'm bound to win.

WHICH HANDS TO HOLD OR FOLD

Postby Soustand » Fri Mar 03, 2006 7:48 pm

I AM CONFUSED ABOUT THE DOWN CARDS WHICH TO HOLD AND WHICH TO FOLD.  I MEAN LOGICALLY THE FLOP CAN SHOW ANYTHING, I ALWAYS WELL ABOUT 95% TIME SEE THE FLOP, AND I GET BITCHED AT FOR HOLDING THE WINNING CARDS THAT USUALLY ARE 8,2 THAT WIN FROM A BUNCH OF 8 AND 2'S.  WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU THROW OUT THERE

Well colocino at least you try to put some logic to your statement unlike klinner13,  however unfounded that logic might be.

Poker is a game of odds and while in the short run you might hit a lucky streak and win with rags in the long term you WILL LOSE MONEY.

You both are a poker sharks dream.

EG  you play your 8 2 and hit it on the flop, your 2 is bound to be the lowest pair so if anyone else hits or is holding pockets you are losing. If you hit your 8 and by some chance it stays the board high card you are still losing to anyone else who has a pocket 8 and a lot of players will hold onto an 8 with any card 7 or above especially if suited.

Put it this way when you consider that pk AA only statisticaly win the hand 30% of the time and they are the best starting hand you can get what chance  do you have playing crap cards?
