holding AK dont let any player limp in. rises or re rase pre flop and if you have to all in. this takes out all the fish this works for me 70% of the time it better to win the pot there and then. than to let flop turn river chasing rat win

I would like some thoughts on playing AKo on the BB. I would like ideas on playing when there are multiple limpers, a late position raiser, an early position raiser, and only one or two limpers. Or any other thoughts.

I think ace king is a monster hand... Is one of my favorite hands.
I always win with them.

AK can get you into trouble erly on in a freeroll when your raise gets called by several other players. Late in a tourney AK is a very strong hand and one that i love to see.

but AK loses so much no matter what the blinds and antes are that it is risky to play it unless your short stacked and hope it holds up

well yes AK is a monster hand good to bet at and good to bluff with but it would be better if AK gets paired if not your not a sure winner.

that is absolutely true,   i also hate when people no matter what hand dont check the BB since they could drag more people who pair up on the flop to bet into them

I think you HAVE to raise with it preflop. That will hopefully weed out some of the weaker hands, especially A-rag. Limping in is dangerous...suppose you flop A-10-6 and bet big...and you get called or reraised all-in with someone who limped in with A-6?

That being said...when the flop comes up with nothing and someone raises post-flop...you have to let it go.

AK is good if you know how to play it right.

ak - after reading a few comments I strongly agree not to go all-in pre-flop with ak. Saxman has the right thought - raise it to weed the garden - but do not give it away.

ace king is a good starting hand but it doesnt pay off for me as much as it beats me when im in a race situation.the odds are stacked against me.

Waht do you think?

All-in preflop with AA is a bad move as far as i'm concerned!! I may call an all-in but you won't see me being the first one in!!!
It takes 2 pair on average to win a holdem pot!!!!
