Always limping with JJ or TT seems pretty conservative.  I don't know the math, but I'd guess that pre-flop, it will be the best hand most of the time.  Of course, other players will almost certainly have overcards.  The more of them who are able to see the flop cheaply, the more likely at least one of them will out-flop you.

Also, if you raise and then continuation bet, they might well put you on a better hand.

when i get pocket 10's or Jacks, i usually bet about 3 times the big blind, depending on position. i like Jacks a lot more than 10's, though.

i dont have a specific way to play those hands...if i have pocket paint other than queens or aces, i always raise to get rid of the junk......in online poker you'll find people calling with two suited cards or weak aces hoping to hit and anybody that's a regular will know that ace-rag hits about 75% of the time....
about 3x the big blind if its later on in the tourney, otherwise starting off about 4x, maybe 5x as the limits are low and showing a larger bet indicates a little bit more stronger starting hand and since it's early, besides the "all iners", no one wants to play junk early to get them slowly closer to elimination.....
