how to improve my game

Postby Oldisher » Thu Aug 11, 2005 11:57 pm

:  [/u][/b]hi guys i'm pretty new to the family here at hasselquist. I've been playing live poker for about 8 yrs and i am pretty good at the local casino tourney. I also find that i do pretty well in the smaller sit & go tourney's usually coming in the money, but when i enter the larger M.T.T's. I find that i either go out realy quick or get alot of chips and then i always seem to lose to alot of river cards is it because i'm not betting strong enough on strong hands before forth and fith st or is it just my bad luck plz help me i desperatley need to improve my game and i have so much to offer.[/b]

What level of MTT are you playing?   Also, how much are you betting on those occasions when you get beat by people who stayed in, and how often does this happen?

If you have a lot of chips then make them pay for the turn and river cards!

They have certainly odds against to make those hands and those are the odds you have to think about.

Think of what cards might your opponent have (how he has been playing will help a lot in this). If the odds against making a straight are 1 in 5 you have to bet so he has to pay 1/4 or 1/3. Most of the time the straight wont came and the guy will have to fold. Beware of bluffs here. Read the guy and think if he´s bluffing or not.

Good luck.
