lol quads is definitely better than full boat. if you get quads, chance are you are holding the winning hand =) statistically, it is extremely difficult to get, as a full house is much more common

Firts hand:
Royal Flush: An Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of the same suit.
In the event of a tie:
Two or more Royal Flushes
split the pot.

Second hand:
Straight Flush: Five cards in sequence, of the same suit.
In the event of a tie:
Highest rank at the
top of the sequence wins.

Third  Hand:
Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank, and one side card.
In the event of a tie:
Highest four of a kind wins.
In community card games where players have the same four poker hands of a kind, the highest fifth side card ("kicker") wins.

Fourth Hand:
Full House: Three cards of the same rank, and two cards of a different, matching rank.
In the event of a tie:
Highest three matching cards wins the pot. In community card games where players have the same three matching cards, the highest value of the two matching cards wins.

Fifth hand:
Flush: Five cards of the same suit.
In the event of a tie:
The player holding the highest ranked card in the poker hands wins. If necessary, the second-highest, third-highest, fourth-highest, and fifth-highest cards can be used to break the tie.

Sixth  Hand:
Straight: Five cards in sequence.
In the event of a tie:
Highest ranking card at the top of the sequence wins.
Note: The Ace may be used at the top or bottom of the sequence, and is the only card which can act in this manner.

Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank, and two unrelated side cards.
In the event of a tie:
Highest ranking three of a kind wins. In community card games where players have the same three of a kind in their poker hands, the highest side card, and if necessary, the second-highest side card wins.

Two Pair: Two cards of a matching rank, another two cards of a different matching rank, and one side card.
In the event of a tie:
Highest pair wins. If players have the same highest pair, highest second pair wins. If both players have identical pairs in their poker hands, highest side card wins.

One Pair:  Two cards of a matching rank, and three unrelated side cards.
In the event of a tie:
Highest pair wins. If players have the same pair, the highest side card wins, and if necessary, the second-highest and third-highest side card can be used to break the tie.

High Card: Any poker hand that does not qualify under a category listed above
In the event of a tie:
Highest card wins, and if necessary, the second-highest, third-highest, fourth-highest and smallest card can be used to break the tie

Hey, let me put it this way, if you got 4 of a kind, your gona want to look for the first oppratunity to go all in, you have the best hand! And, not to mention, if you have a full house, you should also be looking to get some money in that pot...

Not true. Try haveing quad aces and not having the best hand.

Board: Ah 10h 5d Ad Kh

Results
hotsauce shows 4 of kind aces[As Ac]
TheAudition shows a royal flush[Qh Jh]
TheAudition collects all of the blind mans money who decided to check his quads and push into my obvious royal flush.

I prefer full house ... except if you have a pocket in your hand and got the quads on the board. in this case nobody can know that so its easy to bluff. But full house is great too when you bet someone with flush or straight

If you get 4 of a kind why would you go all-in unless early in a tourney. With a nearly unbeatable hand you want people to bet into you. If you bet 2 much everyone fols and your not maximizing your oppurtunity to get lots of chips.

I think it's safe to say that you have won your bet....lol.
With four of a kind, try to get as much as you can out of the whole table.
Chances are, someone will think they have the winning hand and be willing to go all in.....take em for it.

4 of a kind

Postby Butersest » Fri May 19, 2006 3:48 pm

I am not sure exactly but my gut tells me that 4 of a kind is the best. I sure wouldn't mind having a full house though. good luck with your game fish!
