Showing hands

Postby Gookishe » Sat Jul 01, 2006 5:14 pm

The only time i ever like to show my hand is when i have bluffed my opponent in a big hand that will make him more likely to to call you in the furture when you really have the goods,

Usually i dont like to show my hands with a few exceptions, i play at a poker clb 3 times a week and we get new players comming in from time to time, and usually on there first night i will show them every bluff i get involved in with em. I find that they r compelled to call your hands for weeks or even months to come because they remeber the bluffs from that 1 particular night.

Otherwise i suggest giving no added information...good players remember everything!!!!

I keep it simple and almost never show my hand.  This gices up potential times when showing might encourage people to play less than optimally against me, but also doesn't give away anything - having opponents know I bluff (by showing one) may help, but so can having opponents think I don't bluff (by not showing any).

show or not

The only times I show are (a)..with a view to tilting an agitated player  or (b) when i am raising with a genuine hand against short stacks.

I will only show rarely. I'll show if I think that the players think that I'm stealing to much when I have a lot of hands. I'll show monsters like quads sometimes.

i show when im raising a lot and i want to show everyone that i acutally have a hand. I rarely ever show a bluff because my game style involves me betting a lot of time with only marginal holdings. the last thing i want is someone calling me down with weak hands.

i think its up to the individual to decice that. i watch the poker tournys on the tube and all the players will vary w/ thier own style, so i suggest  doing what works for u.

I agree with dylanfan! I will show sometimes when I believe someone is tilting and I am trying to use it to my advantage in a fast pace game! Then I like to be a donk-o-matic and say something smart or laugh at who just lost a good hand by someone hitting out on them on the river! A lot of players get ticked when this happens and sometimes it is easy to pull their chain when someone just stole their bone! LOL! 8)

i do not show - unless it is something like  quads.  I do not ask, nor do I liked being asked.  If I want to see I will pay off.

Don't ever show your hands is my general rule.  But there are times when you want to set up your opponent for a later move.  Like show them your bluff with a certain bet, then next time you make the same bet with the nuts they are more likely to call.
