OK A RAKED HAND IS ONLY IN RING GAMES,
WHEN SEVERAL PLAYERS ARE BETTING INTO THE POT AND IT STARTS TO GET HIGH FOR THAT STAKE ' RAKE ' IS TAKEN FROM THE POT, THIS IS A SMALL AMOUNT OF THE POT SAY FOR INSTANCE 5% WHICH THE SOFTWARE TAKE FOR HOSTING, THATS HOW THEY GAIN THERE MONEY AND CAN PROVIDE FREEROLLS, ITS SIMILAR TO A FEE IN A TOURNAMENT, LIKE IN A $10 TOURNAMENT YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY $10 + $1 THIS $1 GOES TO THE HOUSE/ SOFTWARE.

HOPE THIS HELPS

In english: Rake = the portion of the pot that the house takes.

In sports gambling it's referred to as the "juice" or the "vig".

Some sites give you credit for simply sitting at the table when the house takes a part of the pot.  Others only give you credit for a raked hand if you contribute to the pot.
