How do you play or not play

Postby Sursen68 » Fri Dec 23, 2005 10:40 pm

Lets say its early in a MTT, 50/100 blinds you are on the button, no one really over the 1k in starting chips.

You flop Q2h. you get folds or limps to you. You fold thinking, this is not my normal starting tight/aggressive kind of hand. The flop comes QT2, you WOULD have had 2pr. The turn is a 3 and river a 9. Possible straight but everyone is checking and the winner will have pr 9's.

How do you live with that kind of hand when using standard tight req's(AA-AQo in early etc)  and you dont get them for the rest of the time? Should you loosen up to play Paintx in later positions?

I get blinded out sometimes by playing too tight but have a hard time picking the hands to be loose with, and after folding see the results in 2pr or sets.

Once you fold your hand you should forget about it. It happens to everyone. You fold 72o and the flop comes 227. You just have to forget about the hand. It could backfire on you. What if you make a stupid call with that hand, and somebody slowplays a monstr and sucks you in? Early in the tourney, play good poker. If you want to loosen up, choose a better hand than Q2.
