Postby Dayincle » Wed Jun 15, 2005 9:32 pm

why is it everytime i get AK suited, someone goes all in with something like 72 offsuit or 8-3, somthing like that, and they win??? are the poker sites rewarding stupidity or what???

You must of been playing in a free roll with THOUSANDS of people. Likely that person figured they had nothing to lose; if they won, they could double up; if they lost, there's always the next one

Some sites are really bad at this- which site were you playing at?

I know PokerStars is good for the bad beats. To me this site has somekind of "slider" to make good hands all the time, like watch TV where 20-30 hands are edited out and you only see the good hands that people bet.

I think a few other have this also, just not as bad as PS

You have to give extra emphasis on the importance of "live cards." The 72os is still like a 30% chance to win cuz all it needs to do is pair the board and avoid A or K. Now if you had a pocket pair, then you would've been a 92% favorite instead of 70%. When going all-in, "live cards" are all you really need.

This is one of the most important concepts to understand.

Plus, at the START of a freeroll, some people go all in a lot... they want to go far or go home quick.

Statisticly against AA a medium suited connecter has a good chance at beating Aces. But my worse bad beat with aces was when I went up against 52 suited. I dont know why he called but he luckily caught a straight on the turn. I went all in preflop and it still bugs me to why he called. Lucky him i guess.
