I really believe in that strategy but if someone starts firing back at you, you need to have the guts to go over the top.   Sometimes I can't do that

best BLUFF!!!!

Postby Shetua1978 » Sun Feb 05, 2006 7:41 pm

the best bluffer is not afraid to go over the top on a big bet.  That shows class!!!!   sometimes people think when they bet alot people will fold !!!  When you see someone make a big bet , it either means they are bluffing , or semi bluffing normally.  Normally if they think they got you for sure, they will make small bets to keep you in the pot unless you have been calling their small bet for a while, then they will try to raise the bet a little bit.  DONT BE AFRAID TO CALL THE BIG BET!!!!!!!!!!

I think that the timing of bluffing is the hardest thing to learn and is something I really struggle with.  I think you have to pay closer attention to the game than I do sometimes.

There are ways online to read if someone has something or they dont, I use this as my chance to bluff if I feel my opponent doesn't have anything strong they usually won't call.  I don't bluff a lot or otherwise my strategy wouldn't work.  Just remember when you bluff don't do is so often because eventually they are going to call you.  Doing it once every 10 hands you play is usually very effective.  Make sure you get your opponents to first respect you by maybe showing your cards when you've got a good hand this will usually make them think that you are not a bluffer especially if you do it often they will then respect you more when you make a bet when your bluffing.

Most of the times when I bluff which is rare I do so a pair 0f lower end cards show up on the turn, because most of the time players will fold their lower end cards and the only players are the ones holding the Q's, K's and A's, and they will fold if they don't get a pair at the turn.

But I enjoed reading several of your strategies and look forward to using some on the next tournament I play.  :D
