The freerolls get pretty crazy at times (hell, most of the time!), but it kind of becomes an exercise in patience. If you're willing to play very few hands the first hour, it can work out well. You'll always see people within the first ten minutes who have 6,000 to 7,500 chips...and most of them are gone by the end of the first hour or so.
I've gone both routes...played 4-5 hours to win a buck, and held on for 5 1/2 hours to win the whole thing and get $10. Pay rate per hour...pretty lousy. Benefits of 5 1/2 hours of practice and the boost to my confidence level...priceless.
The other things I like...low limit sit 'n gos that you can play after you win your buck or three or ten. Things I don't like? I think the room itself is damn ugly!
