I also prefer AA before AK, but i dont like to slowplay them.
Raise the pot, and if the flop is ok(little chance for flush, straight or anything big), then i can slowplay it.

AA

i'll take aces any day as long as you get all your money in preflop.  a/k seems to be the death hand if you watch enough tourneys.  i don't think you can slow play aces with 3 or more players drawing out on you...i know you have to mix it up sometime, but you gotta force out the smaller hands preflop if you expect to win the hand.

Just recently i had AA and was up againts the old AK and i was able to get my stack all in pre flop, not too dificult when your againts AK, but i was pretty happy to begin with, saw the flop, was pretty happy with the cards that fell, then the turn and river came, and it took me a second to realize, he had gotten a flush with his king!!!

AA over AK

I will take AA anyday over AK.  It can be beat by any pocket pair straight up.  At least with AA you have more of a fighting chance.

THE REASON BEING IF OPPOSING PLAYERS HAVE POCKETS
TOO SUCH AS 3S 4S 7S  THEY CAN EASILY BEAT U WITH A SET IF ANOTHER A DOESNT HIT.
WHILE AK ESPECIALLY SUITED YOUR CHANCES R BETTER OF GETTING A FLUS= OR STRAIGHT.. BLIEVE ME POCKET AS DONT ALWAYS BEAT
OPPONENTS 90% OF THE TIME
IVE BEEN BEAT BY 37 53 98 ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS W POCKET As

i think you might be right but there is nothing like having pocket aces just that feeling of having the best preflop hand gives u motivation

AA rules

I would take AA over AK against the majority of hands out there.  But remember it's poker and anything can beat AA or AK with the right cards on the flop, turn and river.  All you are guaranteed is that you are strong preflop, the cards dealt will determine the winner.

I would always take AA over AK, and if you are playin in any of NLR games you can understand why! AK is just a draw, and you still need a hit on the flop, it can be great sometimes if yo uare suited, but AA its a premium hand, and I most cases I dont need help on the flop, to win the pot!

AA

yeah i would definitely take AA over AK. AK is probably the best hand that knocks most people out of a tournament.
