I'm in such a slump at catching a flop, that I would not call unless I had the stack to handle the loss.

Currently I only call a raise if I've a made hand.

I have worked there! When it was time for a change, I spent the first hour of each day, (Before the boss got there), looking for another position in the company.  When I found one, I called the group I would be working with and asked about the boss in order to avoid this.  I took the posit...

Grabbed a little more freeroll cash and I'm about to clear my bonus.

The 10 RP freerolls at 10:30 PM EST and 1 AM are particulary ripe.

It's all about the players at the table.  You will find inexperienced players at freerolls everywhere.  They usually don't last long on the $1/$2 ring tables.

Any hand short of a royal can (and will) be beaten.  When it happens to you, you second guess your actions.  That is natural.  In the long run, play the big hands and let the odds correct your losses.

I just have trouble making the long run.

The bluff with 7 2 is a bad idea.  Three things can happen. 1)  You make a hand (not very likley) 2) You manage to get someone to call your bluff.    ii) now you gotta risk more to force them out    iii) Or you gotta make a hand (see 1) 3)  You get them to fold. &n...

GREAT idea.  By the way it's my birthday today.  What great timimg.

Actually my birthday was last week.

I suspect that my sister-in-law would disaprove of my getting my brother to spend more time online.  That's yet another plus.  (Piss off the sister-in-law.)

Far more important than starting hand is knowing when to give up the hand.  Playing low cards is statisticlly not a good idea, but I find it's alot better than that loser.  Lets say he had a good pair to start.  When he didn't flop a set and you strated raising the stakes he should've...

Everybody has there seasonal favorites.  Nothing wrong about that.  For me it's 8 3.  However this is such a bad starting hand, I can only play it from the big blind and only if no one raises. So I throw it away 90% of the time.  Of the 10% that I get to play it, I might win it o...

Years ago when I was just learning Hold'em I would play any two cards where the lowest was 8 or better.  This was a good guide against the simulated system I was playing at the time.  Against real players (online or live)  I have found that I must be FAR more selective of the hands to...

I can't stand it when the loser can't let it go.  We all play marginal hands once in a while and sometimes get lucky and beat someone bad.   The loser that goes on and on and on and on andon about how I should have never been in the hand in the first place really ticks me off.  It's p...

I have gotten really spoiled by online poker.  The dealers are friendly and so efficient!  The live games around here are charity by law.  They are staffed by poorly trained volunteers.  The play is so slow that we rarely get a full round of hands in before the blinds raise.

This WILL be a great freeroll.  I was well on my way to meeting the rake and two things happened.   1)  I ran out of chips there and the freeerolls arn't working for me anymore. 2)  Got more work so I don't have the time to make the rake.   I guess my salary will have to sus...
