There are two almost completely different strategies involved in each version. THough I'd have to admit I like playing IRL much more.

lol kermit

i reckon that that would count as a irl game...lol

I really enjoy internet poker for the convienence of it...( i like to play in my pajamas..lol)  but I'd have to agree with the general consensus here and say that live games are more fun (and more stressful).

The computer is great for hiding behind... but irl games put it all out for everyone to see that I have no poker face...lol.

I don't think people realize how uncomfotable and stressful live poker games can be.  When you are playing at a table full of people you don't know, your nerves can really get to you.  I happen to prefer live poker because it is such a rush.  The slow pace and the uncomfortable surroundings make it a pretty odd experience if you haven't done it before.  I played live in Vegas last year and it was wild.  I had to hide my hands under the table so people couldn't see them shaking, lol.  I've been getting more and more comfortable with it but it sure is different than playing at home in your underwear.

Live Poker

I find Live poker more enjoyable and relaxing.  I like to chat and joke around at the table which makes it more fun.  This also loosens up the table and throws off any reads on me.

I'm going to start playing live soon.  I'm curious to see how the style of play differs from online play.

LIVE!

Postby Itive1982 » Sun Dec 04, 2005 4:52 pm

Live poker definately beats online poker...I dont like how the cards fall on absolute poker...all of the fish beat me on the river
Playing live however......I usually place in the money...we had 17 guys last week with top 4 making money I come in 4th (Due to a lack of cards but I didnt get any bad beats atleast...)

You hit it on the head with "stress" and "rush"  It's an incredible feeling when you put someone all in, win and rake the pot in.  Hard to describe.
