home game

Postby Whisonds92 » Sun Nov 27, 2005 12:22 am

I just recently finished building a table for my home games. First week with the new table I made it to heads up and I get qq, other guy 77, of course we were all in, flop nothing, turn nothing, river...7. dammit. Next week heads up again I get aa other guy jj, flop nothing, turn j, river nothing. Think my tables bad luck.

Pocket pairs are either a curse or a blessing,  I was in a $100 buy-in tourney once, I had AQ suited.  Guy bets, I (over-bet perhaps) raise, he goes all-in with KK.  I call and the flop comes AQblank.  Turn is a K with a blank on the river.  I went from underdog to favorite to slim chance all in a heartbeat.  That's poker!!!

We play Dealers Choice, but real poker only.  When a game is called we play it all the way around the table, then the next player to the left of the "Caller" becomes the "Caller".  It's nice to play the same game a half dozen times AND you can play 'ante' games and games with 'blinds', and it is fair to all.
