These things happen and controlling your temper can only help your game if you are still playing. It helps you to focus better on whats going on !

Losing your temper can be very costly if you are prone to losing your temper you should take an anger management course or just adapt to the table you are playing on you can't win every hand and the one you feel you should have won but lost well it's just the way the cards fall it is not you. Bad players will keep repeating the pattern of losing then calling with lame cards hoping to win back what they lost while the good players will take advantage of your desparation and in the end it's not the other players who beat you, you just beat yourself

While I agree that it's important to remain calm after a bad beat, there are several pros that come to mind who wear their emotions on their sleeve...Mike Matusow can be heard three casinos over if he loses ANY hand, and Phil Helmuth will humiliate the living daylights out of you if you beat him.

I wouldn't recommend this strategy to the average Joe Poker player, because usually (at least in the pro's case) it's more or less an attempt to pull you out of your game, but it is successful for them.

I'd say if you are destroying filing cabinets and laptop computers after bad beats, then you could probably benefit from a good anger management class.

Emotions are your worst enemy, next to ignorance of the game.  You have to always remember your playing a game that does have luck involved it it.. and its not always going to go your way.

Controlling your emotions is a personal thing, its dependant on the person.  For the most part, the one thing you must realize.. you gain ZERO by getting upset.. there is no upside at all.  Focus on the game, what heppened, process that its part of the game, and move on.

Temper wise what about when you are in a hand you go all in with maybe the best possible hand someone calls you with low pair and low kicker and catches the kicker on the river, He ends up with two pair and i am out of the tourney with pocket kings. Then when you leave the table they start talking stuff bad about you. What do you do ? Stay and chat back or exit the whole game? I usually just exit out, but why talk like that after some1 is gone? :?

temper

yeah, ive had my opponent dead in the water only to be brought back from the boneyard by a miracle runner runner. that coupled w/the elitism i find at a lot of poker sites that label luck like this an attiribute of a quality player. (as if). the only happy medium i can possibly find is knowing that if a player puts himself in the position where he needs two prayers to be answered on the turn and river, he'll eventually lose the farm.

I figure, aslong as you have a good hand preflop versus his hand... and even if you get beat try to controll your temper... otherwise find a nice pillow to punch the living daylights out of!!!!!!!!

You will see these people in almost every game, dont let them phase you. Stick to your game plan and usually by the time 3 tables are left they wont be there.

Bad beats don't make me as mad as other players calling the loose player names.  They get prety rude beyond telling him/her how stupid they were to go all in with trash.

I also don't always watch the end.  Usually play several tournaments at once.

You have to keep things in perspective, it is only a freeroll.  Too bad this mentality is the same reason people play any two cards.  Try to make a note of these players and then hopefully you'll get to play them on a real money table where you should be able to take money off them.

I play my best when I'm tilt.  That way I'm mad enough not to be bullied around and make sure I call the hand until the end.
