freerolls

Postby Bervicad » Sun Jun 11, 2006 8:50 pm

What is the average time it takes to complete a freeroll. Most sites take about 4-5 hrs. Are there less players here,so less time?

Time for tourney's

Postby Wharleas » Sat Jun 17, 2006 8:15 pm

Yes there are less players in all private freerolls.  I've seen them last about 2 1/2 hours to complete one of them.  Maybe even longer it all depends on the caliber of players.  But usually I would say about 2 - 3 hours.

This is a great site, try it out participate a little and get to know the people here and you will want to stick around.

My two cents...

actually it would depend more on the poker program i think, rather than this forum. Although private games have less people, less used programs will have less people, even in this forum alone. newer or less popular sites can have tournaments that can finish in just about an hour.

Average time depends on more than just the number of people; for instance, the size of the starting stacks and how quickly or slowly the blind structure increases.

arjonius is right, the quicker the rise in blinds the sooner the tourney will end,
it also gets rid of "sitouts" faster so you can then enjoy a wee game of holdem, thats if its possible to enjoy when my nerves are going a dinger, lol
longest freeroll ive been involved in was 2.20 odd minutes(i won) with 500 entrants.

Most freerolls take less then 2 hours. Yes the big ones like on AP or Stars can take that long but those aren't "normal". If you are constantly playing rolls with 1000 or more people you should consider the whys of it...
